Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her performance in films and on television since the mid 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of honors, including two Golden Globe Awards as well as sixteen NAACP Image Awards. She is known for her roles in TV and film from the mid-80s onwards, she has received various accolades such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett born in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt, who was born to New York New York, is a well-known actress. Bassett's mother had split from her father at about five. Bassett and her younger sister went from the city of St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was inspired to become an actress after seeing the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Following her graduation of Yale University New Haven Connecticut in the year 1980, she earned the Bachelor's degree of African American Studies, she continued to pursue an MA (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, a fellow actress at Yale and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Bachelor of Arts (Afro-American Studies) in the year 1980.
