Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th, 1961) was an American actress. She has been recognized for her film and TV performance since the 1980s. The awards she has won are two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and was raised by her aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. When Bassett was about five She and her sister were moved into St. Petersburg, Florida to live with their mother, who was divorced from their father. Bassett was inspired to become an actor after watching the play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Yale University New Haven Connecticut was where she earned her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). She met Courtney B. Vance, an actress who was also at Yale and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1981. Master of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grade), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett has been cast in one the leading roles of Ramonda for the action adventure movie i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
